IN THE HAUTE SAVOIE DEPARTMENT

CHAMONIX (47 km / 50 min)

Discover this world-renowned mountaineering resort at the foot of the Mont Blanc mountain, commonly known as the roof of Europe. The whole world meets up in the shopping streets of this “high-mountain town” lined with rocks, snow and ice. For the bravest ones, try the climb to the Aiguille du Midi (3600 meters high) with its breathtaking experience : “Le Pas dans le vide” (unique in the world). For families, let yourself be tempted by the Mer de Glace (1900m) by getting on the small Montenvers train.

 

SIXT FER A CHEVAL (30 km / 45 min)

Enjoy yourself in an exceptional natural setting. Its beautiful and large nature reserve have the largest mountain circus in the Alps, from which rise impressive waterfalls, as the majestic Cascade du Rouget nicknamed the «Queen of the Alps».

ANNECY (69 km / 1h)

Let yourself be lulled by the sweetness of life of this city, known as the «Venice of the Alps». Stroll along the flowery canals of the historic centre («the old town»), walk or cycle around the lake where you can also bask in the sun on the many beaches that border this beautiful lake of Annecy. Exceptional swimming guaranteed!

LINDARETS VILLAGE (45 km / 1h10)

This village lost in the alpine pastures and close to Morzine is a must-see destination for families. The goats in freedom frolic across this authentic hamlet all summer long. What to amaze the little ones! In winter, the village becomes a landmark for the most greedy skiers.

 

MERLET PARK (39 km / 40 min)

Because holidays in the mountains are made of unique moments, take a walk in this animal park to discover mountain animals as you will never see them: chamois, ibex, marmots, etc…

Picnic allowed outside the park. Baby carrier recommended. Possibility to eat on site (restaurant).

 

YVOIRE (70 km / 1h10)

Pretty medieval village since 1306, classified «most beautiful village of France» and located on the French side of Lake Geneva. Yvoire is a beautiful escape where you will like to stroll in the flowery streets and along the small harbour.

GENEVA (56 km/ 55 min)

Welcome to Switzerland! Come and admire Lake Geneva, and its 140m high water jet which is the symbol of the city. Stroll through the streets where luxury boutiques are numerous.

Local currency: the Swiss franc; some shops accept the euro and you will find many exchange offices in the city and at customs.

AOSTA (98 km/1h33)

Welcome to Italy now! Capital of the Aosta Valley region, this charming little town surrounded by these mountainous landscapes combines heritage, gastronomy and Italian art. You will enjoy strolling through its pedestrian streets where the Roman past is still reflected (Augustus Arch and Porta Praetoria, once the main entrance of the city) and during its large market full of specialties – every Tuesday. In winter, Aosta is close to ski resorts and Grand Paradis National Park.
